Lucy’s Stash Boxes
Aliases: none Status: Minor Origin: Commissioned by Lucy
The house stash box is one of the saga’s most ordinary props — an ornate box the protagonists keep their weed in — and, per Lucy, one of its oldest. The boxes are physically separate objects sharing a design and a murky history, and “Stash Boxes” is an editorial collective title, not a name anyone in the text uses.
Description
Ornate, commission-quality boxes. The one on the protagonists’ table is a daily-use object from the first pages of the saga; Lucy retains her own matching box. She says she commissioned them. From there the provenance gets interesting, and then gets vague, in exactly that order.
History and Provenance
Lucy describes the protagonists’ box passing through a Pharaoh, a French duke, and German officers. Chino separately says his grandfather took it from a Japanese officer in World War II. Both accounts are given in the text; the transfer between Lucy’s ancient chain and Chino’s grandfather’s war trophy is unexplained. The boxes’ route from a Pharaoh’s court to a Japanese officer’s kit to a living-room stash table is a hole the size of history, and the wiki will not fill it.
Role in Volume 01
- Uncle Rob’s Time Portal: The stash box is present from the opening pages as household furniture — the saga’s weed lives here before the saga’s time travel starts.
- Lucy’s Box and surrounding stories: the box recurs as a domestic fixture while its history comes out in conversation.
Contents and Continuity
- The long pipe vs. Lucy’s small pipe: the boxes’ pipes are visually distinct and recurring — the demonic long pipe is a separate object from Lucy’s small pipe. Volume 2 names the Devil’s Pipe. Do not merge them; the text keeps them apart, and so should the wiki.
- Stash IOUs: the boxes accumulate IOUs as part of their ongoing contents, a paper trail of the household’s borrowing habits. They are ordinary scene props, recorded here rather than given their own entries.
Notes
- “Lucy’s Stash Boxes” is a proposed collective title for physically separate ornate boxes. Nobody in the saga calls them that.
- No magical storage ability or curse is demonstrated. The boxes are old, pretty, and full of weed and IOUs — that is the whole of it.
- The master list may give these objects names the prose never speaks; the dossier follows the text. Anything the prose doesn’t name stays unnamed here.
