Alien Captain

Aliases: none Status: Supporting

The commanding officer of the alien ship. He runs a tight bridge, tolerates Uncle Rob as a fixer, and delivers the volume’s most devastating pronoun reveal.

Description

The text gives him no physical description beyond presence: he paces, he barks orders in a language no human understands, he gets inches from Uncle Rob’s face when furious, and he throws his hands up and storms off when Rob answers fury with “I’m sorry?” He nods solemnly when it counts.

Role in Volume 01

  • Uncle Rob and the Aliens: His only appearance. He chews out Aenwyn for dereliction of duty, calling “him” a piece of shit for sleeping with Chino on shift, which is how Chino learns the truth. He rages at Uncle Rob over the burning bridge; Rob translates the verdict for the boys: they are “the most fucktarded humans they’ve ever abducted from Earth,” and only Rob’s years of help keep them from being shot out an airlock. He demonstrates the airlock on a bag of trash, orders Chino and Homeboy inside, and howls with laughter along with everyone else when the vacuum spits them back onto the bridge. In the transporter room he accepts Rob’s promise to recover the Flux Capacitor with a solemn nod and beams the group home.

Relationships

  • Uncle Rob: owes him discoveries; keeps him as a ground asset. The relationship is the only reason the boys leave the ship alive.
  • Aenwyn: his subordinate, dressed down on the bridge.
  • Chino, Homeboy: the worst abductees in the ship’s history, by his own account.

Notes

  • The Captain never speaks a word of intelligible dialogue. Every line attributed to him arrives through Uncle Rob’s translation, which the text presents as reliable and nobody questions.
