Hugo’s Manager

Aliases: none Status: Minor

A shorter, pudgy man in thick glasses, Hugo’s manager is caught mid-argument with his fighter backstage at the Chinatown Kumité when Ingrid intervenes. The text never names him.

Description

Pudgy, bespectacled, and losing an argument with a mountain. He has no lines the crew can hear; the whole dispute plays out swallowed by crowd noise.

Role in Volume 01

In Big Trouble in Chinatown, the crew spots him backstage locked in a heated, unintelligible argument with Hugo, whose fists are starting to glow. Ingrid steps between them “like a peacekeeping queen in heels,” speaks to each in turn, and the manager adjusts his frames and walks away without a word. That is his entire appearance.

Relationships

  • Hugo: his fighter; losing the argument.
  • Ingrid: talks him down and sends him off.

Notes

  • He is the only named-by-role figure in Hugo’s camp the text never identifies further.
