A police officer who pulls over a Mrs. Dealer’s Edibles product van on the way to the Colosseum, assaults the driver with a baton, and holds the scene while Billy and Cliff’s rednecks lace the shipment with LSD. The text never names him.

Description

Professional on the surface, procedural to the letter (“License and registration,” “Step over to the police vehicle”), until the baton comes out. He works the stop “with the slow inevitability of paperwork.”

Role in Volume 01

In El Cucuy and the Nightmares, he pulls the van over, runs the documents, then has the driver step out, open the back, and put his hands on the cruiser hood facing away. He cracks the baton against the driver’s head without hesitation. While the monster is out cold, he rushes the rednecks (“Make it quick. I don’t know how long those things stay out cold”), admits he has never caught one before (“Nah. I only shoot ‘em”), and is gone with his cruiser by the time the driver wakes. The laced shipment goes on to turn the Colosseum concert into a nightmare riot.
