Lucy’s Limousine
Aliases: none Status: Major Wielder: Mammon, Mary Jane, and Lucy
Lucy’s limousine is the crew’s transport, fortress, and trap all at once. Its glass and body resist attacks — right up until they don’t, because armor has exactly one famous enemy and it is an unlocked door. Three different people drive it at three different points (Mammon, Mary Jane, and Lucy herself), which says something about both the car’s importance and the crew’s relaxed attitude toward vehicle custody.
Description
The limousine’s glass and body are established as attack-resistant: it is built to keep violence out. The single, devastating caveat is that an unlocked door defeats the entire protection scheme — the finest armored shell in the world is a suggestion if the handle works. Mammon, Mary Jane, and Lucy each take the wheel at different points in the arc, making the car less anyone’s personal vehicle and more a shared instrument of the household. The car’s role shifts with its use: as group transport it is a status symbol with armor, as a protection site it is a bunker with wheels, and as a capture site it is a bunker with wheels and one unlocked door. No manufacturer, model, or supernatural propulsion is supplied by the text. It is a limousine. It resists attacks. Someone keeps leaving the door unlocked.
Role in Volume 01
- Lucy’s Box: The limousine serves as the group’s transport through the Lucy arc, then becomes the protection site — and the capture site — during Dos Santos’ attack, when the unlocked-door caveat does exactly what caveats do. From there it carries the consequences forward into the forest and into Lucy’s departure. The car survives the arc it anchors: the one thing the armor actually protected was the plot’s ability to keep moving.
Notes
- The attack resistance covers the glass and body. It does not cover the doors, or at least not the unlocked ones.
- The unlocked door is not a flaw in the armor; it is a flaw in the crew.
- No manufacturer, model, or supernatural propulsion is established. The limousine is an armored car, not a magical one — the text gives it no powers, only armor.
- All three drivers are established in the text; no one is recorded as the car’s owner.
