King Taco

Aliases: none Status: Major

King Taco is the crew’s recurring restaurant — the table where fights break out, dates happen, a Duende gets fed, and a manager undergoes a transformation. It recurs across both volumes, which is why it gets an entry. What it does not get is an assumed single address: the manuscript shows the crew eating at King Taco repeatedly, but it never establishes that every visit is the same physical branch. The number of branches visited and their addresses are unspecified, and no details are imported from the real-world chain.

Description

What the text establishes is a visited setting, not a floor plan: a King Taco restaurant (or restaurants) where the crew sits down, orders, and has things happen to them. The events are the geography here — the venue earns its entry through recurrence and consequences, not architecture.

The standing cautions apply to every mention: do not assume one branch, do not borrow the real chain’s menu, locations, or history. The manuscript’s King Taco is the King Taco of the stories, and only that.

Role in Volume 01

King Taco appears twice in Volume 01. The first visit falls in the Uncle Rob’s Time Portal era — early in the saga, when the crew’s troubles are still mostly about a stolen weed stash and a collapsing portal. The second comes around the cursed-joint arc, in The Cursed Joint of Bayankala’s neighborhood.

Between them, Volume 01 gives the venue two of its signature events: the Destiny/Homegirl fight and a formal double date. (The event-to-visit mapping follows the story titles and the brief’s evidence ranges rather than a line-by-line assignment in the brief itself — see Notes.)

Role in Volume 02

Volume 02 keeps coming back to the table. The brief’s evidence spans four separate ranges, and the venue hosts the rest of its signature events: the feeding of the Duende (Rawr), Homegirl’s date with Chris, the The Man of Iga encounter, and Rawr’s manager transformation.

The Man of Iga encounter’s evidence range sits inside the line span of the sword-battle story, which places that meal in The Man of Iga’s orbit — a dinner that shares a story with a decisive duel.

Relationships

  • Destiny and Homegirl: their fight is one of the venue’s defining Volume 01 incidents.
  • Rawr: fed here as the Duende, and transformed here as a manager — two visits, two very different Rawrs.
  • The Man of Iga: his encounter with the crew happens over this table.
  • Homegirl: her date with Chris is a Volume 02 King Taco event.

Notes

  • Branch identity is unresolved. Nothing in the brief establishes that the Volume 01 and Volume 02 visits — or any two visits — are the same physical restaurant. The page treats “King Taco” as a recurring venue, not a single pinned address.
  • No details are imported from the real-world King Taco chain. If the manuscript doesn’t say it, the page doesn’t say it.
  • The assignment of the Destiny/Homegirl fight and the formal double date to Volume 01, and the Duende feeding, Chris date, Man of Iga encounter, and manager transformation to Volume 02, is inferred from the brief’s volume-labeled evidence ranges and the relevant story titles — El Duende, Tequila Homegirl, and The Man of Iga are Volume 02 stories, and the cursed-joint material is Volume 01. Flagged here so a future reader with the manuscript can confirm or correct the mapping.
